CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP

  Prelude

  Welcome and Announcements

  God’s Greeting and Call to Worship (Responsive)  from Psalm 104

     How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all;
     the earth is full of your creatures.

            There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures

             beyond number - living things both large and small.

All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.

When you give it to them, they gather it up;

  when you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew  the face

  of the ground. May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

  may the Lord rejoice in his works!

*Morning Praise #52                                                          I Sing the Mighty Power of God
  Prayer of Confession (Responsive)  Based on Psalm 52
     Why do we boast of our mischief all day long?
             Our tongues are like sharp razors.

     We love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking the truth.
             We love words that hurt and devour, deeds that are sinister,

             attitudes that speak of our own ego, and thoughts that judge loudly.
     O God, we seek to trust in your steadfast love forever and ever,

     and put aside our mischief.

[Quiet personal confession]

Assurance of Pardon

God’s mercy is sure and everlasting.  Receive the Lord’s grace, let your heart be cleansed and restored, and having been made whole by grace, leave this place to be a good Samaritan.  Amen.

     Ever aware that the parsonage of the Kinderhook Reformed Church is our responsibility, the Consistory has agreed to have the over-forty-year- old windows replaced with all new doubled pane and energy efficient windows.  This is a very large expenditure, but a necessary one.  If anyone would like to help defray the cost of this major renovation project, please see Paul Clause or place a designated gift in the weekly offering plate marked "Parsonage Windows".

                                                                       In His Name and In His Service,

We are creating new plans and new items for the 2013 KRC Bazaar, and OUR GROUP IS NOW LOOKING FOR OLD TEACUPS WITH SAUCERS, AND FOR SMALL DECORATIVE MASON JARS (lids not needed) TO USE IN MAKING SOY CANDLES.  If you enjoy craft activities, but are unable to meet with us on Friday mornings, please consult with Dawn Tuttle about how you may be able to contribute to the Bazaar by working from home on your own time schedule.

KRC GUIDED TOURS

The church will be open for guided tours from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday mornings through October 12. If you are willing to volunteer as a tour guide, help-sheets for noting points of interest within the sanctuary, recording the number of visitors, and opening and closing the church building are available to assist you in providing this outreach ministry.  If this appeals to you as a way to serve the Lord, please contact Jane Deane, 758-7051.

EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $85.12.  All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient.
