  Welcome and Announcements

  God's Greeting

  Drawing Near to God

Call to Worship (Responsive)  Adapted from Psalm 34:1-8

We have come here to worship, to restore our souls.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!

To the God who makes all these things happen, we lift our voices in praise.

I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
       Those who look to him are radiant;

their faces are never covered with shame.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.

*Song of Exaltation #98                                                          Majesty, Worship His Majesty

Allowing God to Shape Us

  Call to Confession

In our own self-absorption, we have often neglected to lift our holy God up in sincere, worshipful praise; and we have failed to testify with our mouths to his faithfulness, and to reflect in our actions his righteousness and loving kindness.  Let us together seek his forgiveness.

  Prayer of Confession (Responsive)

God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have not been your faithful, called-out people.

We have been filled with self-concern and self-interest. "Me first" has become the order of our lives and has led us into sin.

Lord, have mercy on us.

We have lacked vision; our commitment has been shallow; our love has been narrow.

We have been bitter complainers, forgetting who we are called to be. Lord,
have mercy on us.

Have mercy on us, God, and help us to be like Jesus, who gave up everything for our salvation. Amen.

  Assurance of Pardon (Responsive)

Jesus knows our every weakness, and loves us still. Dear friends, awaken to the promise of Christ's amazing grace, and believe the good news that in him we are forgiven!

Praise be to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Coming before God’s Open Word

Children's Message and Prayer of Blessing (Unison)

Lord of grace and glory, transform the lives of these children with your divine and holy presence.   May their lips boldly speak your praises, their voices resound with songs of worship, and their hearts remain faithful to you forever.  Amen.

Prayer Song for Illumination #536                                                        Open Our Eyes, Lord

  Scripture Reading                                                                                               Psalm 40:1-11

Message                                                                     “Introduction to a Lack-Nothing Life”

  Prayer of Thanks

     Celebrating God

  Offering and Offertory

*Doxology #809                                                   Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below.

Praise him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

  Offertory Prayer (Unison)

O Lord, source of our salvation and giver of life, we acknowledge that all we have received is from your hand. You call us to be caretakers of the abundance you have entrusted to us. Help us to always use your gifts wisely, and teach us to share them generously. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ in our lives and bring praise to your name. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer and The Lord's Prayer

*Song of Promise #639                                                                Surely Goodness and Mercy

*Blessing, Benediction, and Response Hymn                            By the Gift of God’s Grace

By the gift of God’s grace may your burdens be light,

and your heart with his love be aglow. May your spirit be glad, may your soul be at rest,

and may Christ grant you peace as you go.  Amen.

CLASSIS ASSESSMENT 2017

KRC’s share of support this year is $5,310 for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the
d national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT
$88.50 (up 48¢ from last
year)
.  All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The full share
does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. If offered weekly, that’s just $1.77
weekly for the remaining weeks in this year. All contributions made for this purpose should be designated, “Classis Assessment.”

~PROPERTY MINISTRY PROJECT~

It is the responsibility of the Property Ministry to see that the properties owned by the church are maintained and kept in suitable condition. The parsonage on Eichybush Road is one of those properties.

In the 1970's a porch was added to the back of the parsonage behind the kitchen in a corner formed by parts of the structure. It was screened in, and during the years since then those screens deteriorated to the point where they were removed. In order to protect and preserve the remaining portions of the porch and also to further insulate the kitchen area of the parsonage, the Property Ministry recommended and the consistory approved a plan to close the porch in with sliding windows plus screens, making it much more serviceable. The church has contracted with Window World to have this done at a cost between $5,000 and $6,000. The work will begin as soon as the required windows have been produced.

The Property Ministry plans to hold some fund raising events in the spring of '17 to help pay for this project. As always, any donations that a person may choose to make toward this work will be gratefully accepted to help reach our goal. If donations should exceed the amount required, they will be held for support of future projects which continually need to be addressed.
