  Prelude

  Welcome, Announcements, and God’s Greeting

Boldly Approaching our God

Call to Worship  (Responsive)  Based on Psalm 86

Call on the Lord! God inhabits our praise and hears our prayers.
You, O God, are good and forgiving,

bighearted toward all those who ask for help.
We put ourselves in your hands with confidence and trust.
We depend on you from morning to night.
You know the number of hairs on our heads. You will not let us down.
No one is like you, God, and nothing compares to your greatness.
Your love is immense. You are slow to anger and quick to show kindness.
You never give up on us, Lord. Thank you for your infinite mercy!

*Hymn of Praise #799                                                                    God Himself Is with Us

  Call to Confession

The God who knows us through and through, and loves us still, invites us to honestly confess our shortcomings.

  Prayer of Confession  (Unison)

Merciful God, as your children, we long to grow to spiritual maturity, and to be weaned from the elementary teachings of our faith. We desire to live as disciples who can be entrusted with the full measure of the gospel. We confess that we often avoid such growth and would rather remain comfortable than embrace the challenge and pain of deep and lasting change. Forgive us, Lord.  Renew within us the desire and commitment to be fully alive to you, to ourselves, and to one another as faithful and mature followers of Christ.  Amen.

  Assurance of Pardon (Responsive)

It is a sure and trustworthy word that Jesus Christ came to forgive us, to redeem us, and to restore us to right relationship. Hear this good news: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

       Hallelujah! Amen.

We Come before God’s Open Word

  Prayer of Blessings

  Scripture Reading                                                                          Mark 4:26-34 (p. 710)

  Message                                                                                                   “Parable Power”

  Prayer of Thanks

Celebrating God

New Members Profession of Faith and Sacrament of Baptism

*Apostles Creed (Responsive)

Do you believe in God the Father?

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit?

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Song of Commitment                                                                       You Are My All in All

  Offering/Offertory

*Doxology and Prayer of Blessing  (Unison)

Holy God, we offer these gifts to be used to preach the truth of salvation through Christ Jesus your Son; to proclaim his promise of renewal of mind, body, and spirit; and to make known the blessings that await those who listen and respond to his message of love and life eternal.  Amen.

Prayer Requests/Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

*Hymn of Thanks and Devotion #374                               Now Thank We All Our God

*Blessing, Benediction, and Response Hymn    My Friends May You Grow in Grace

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever, amen. (2x)

THANK YOU FROM BECKY AND JESSICA ALESSI
We would like to sincerely thank everyone for all the thoughts, prayers, and support we have received.  The funeral service for Sal was beautiful, and the luncheon following was wonderful and greatly appreciated.  Thank you to everyone who helped plan, cook, and clean up.  The food was delicious.  I have had so many friends and family members speak so highly of the service and of the generosity of the church and the members who helped with the luncheon.  We truly feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful church family.
                                                             Love, Becky and Jessica Alessi

VBS will run this summer at KRC from AUGUST 18th to 22nd, 9 am to Noon, with arrival and sign-in at 8:45 to 9 am daily.  We are very excited and busy making preparations for the SonTreasure Island theme! Set your sails for Shipwreck Bay! Visitors to SonTreasure Island are welcomed by the scent of exotic flowers, the taste of tropical fruits and the captivating sound of island music. But this is no ordinary tropical escape! There is treasure to be found here. More precious than gold, more lasting than diamonds, it is the greatest treasure of all - God’s love! At SonTreasure Island, treasure seekers will play island games, create colorful crafts, and enjoy tropical snacks. But more importantly, they will discover the rich treasure of God’s love through the life of Jesus.
We hope you'll be able to join us this year, and ask that you register your children as soon as possible to allow us to make the necessary arrangements, purchase supplies, etc.  Students ages 3 who are potty trained to those entering grade 8 are welcome to attend.  Students Grade 6 and above are allowed to be helpers if they would prefer to do that, however they still need a completed registration form in order to help. REGISTRATION FORMS MAY BE PICKED UP FROM THE BACK TABLE OR THE CROSS EYED OWL GIFT SHOP.  Please return completed forms at your earliest convenience to either the church or the Cross Eyed Owl Gift Shop.

As always, there is no charge to attend VBS here in Kinderhook.  If you would like to make a donation to help offset the cost, you are always welcome to do so.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church or contact Patti Varga at anytime.  We look forward to seeing many of you in August at SonTreasure Island VBS!
