  Announcements, Welcome, and God’s Greeting

  Drawing Near To God

Call To Worship (Responsive)  Based on Psalms 24, 27; John 4:23

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?

Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,

who do not lift up their souls to what is false.

Let us worship God, our light and our salvation.

The Lord is the stronghold of our lives.

We desire to live in God’s house and to seek God in his holy temple.

We have come with shouts of joy, to sing and to make music to the Lord.

Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.

Teach us your ways and make our paths straight.

*Hymn #16                                                                            Give to Our God Immortal Praise

  Prayer of Blessing

Allowing God to Shape Us

Call to Confession  Based on  Isaiah 30:15, 18

In repentance is your salvation, in trust is your strength. The Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.

Prayer of Confession (Responsive)   Psalm 51
Have mercy on me according to your steadfast love, O God;
According to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight;
You are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within  me.
Do not cast me away from your presence,

and do not take your holy spirit from me.

  Assurance of Pardon (Responsive)

Brothers and sisters, hear the good news proclaimed to king David and claimed by us this morning. Now, through Jesus Christ, the Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die.

Praise be to our God of Forgiveness!

  Doxology and Offertory Prayer  (Unison)

Gracious God, you have given your only Son for us, and have clothed us in his garments of salvation and holiness. Inspire us through your generosity to give freely so that others may discover your abundance; to give gratefully so that others may know your liberality; to give humbly so that others may experience your love and reconciliation. Amen.

You are cordially invited to FIRST FRIDAY DINNER AND FELLOWSHIP NIGHT in the KRC fellowship room.  “Fixin’s” will be provided for a “make-your-own” sub meal, and donations of side dishes or desserts to share would be appreciated if you are able to do so.  Following dinner, all are invited to help with decorating for KRC’s upcoming VBS week, or to just sit and fellowship with one another. Please come and enjoy the GOOD FOOD, CONVERSATION, and DECORATING FUN. There is always something for everyone at First Friday, and we hope to see you there.  Doors are open at 5:30 pm, and dinner is served at 6.

As you know, many disadvantaged families struggle to provide some essentials for their children, like new school supplies. Stewart's Shops has again generously donated $1,000 to purchase backpacks for Capital City Rescue Mission’s 7th Annual Backpack Giveaway Party in August. But we need your help to fill them! KRC’s is collecting school supplies for the mission again this year, and we are asking church family and friends to join us in this effort. Labeled collection containers will be available at the church’s entryways, and OUR DONATIONS NEED TO BE IN THE CONTAINERS NO LATER THAN NEXT SUNDAY, AUGUST 9TH.  What better way to help school kids than by making sure they are well-equipped to begin the new school year? Gender-neutral items are appreciated. Thanks for helping!

KRC’s share of support this year is $5,633.28 for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in
America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN
SET AT $88.02.  All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The
full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. If offered weekly,
that’s just $4.20 for each of the remaining weeks in this year. All contributions made for this purpose should be designated
“Classis Assessment.”

For those of you who would like to donate flower arrangements for the pulpit in memory of loved ones or in celebration of special occasions, please contact Dawn Van Buren.

Regular updates are needed on the progress or condition of all individuals on our prayer and praise lists, especially those whose names are in bold type. Forward information, as well as new requests, to krc@fairpoint.net or call 859-4158.
