O Lord our God, we believe in you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Insofar as we can, insofar as you have given us the power, we have sought you.   Call to Confession

  Prayer of Confession (Unison)

Lord, a friend came to me today with a problem and wanted to talk so I listened, but all the while I was thinking of a problem of my own. And when my friend went away, I knew I hadn’t really paid attention. As you once said of your disciples, I have ears but hear not. O Lord, help me always to keep my ears and my heart open. And put myself aside so that you can use me to help other people when they’re in need. In Jesus name. Amen.

  Silent Confession

  Assurance of Pardon)

The Law (Responsive) — Based on Matthew 22:37-40

What is the great and first commandment?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart

and with all your soul and with all your mind.

What is the second commandment like it?

       Love your neighbor as yourself.

What does this mean?

Love is the fulfilling of the law.

To what does this call us?

To a life of faith working through love.

Children’s Prayer of Blessing (Unison)

Loving Father, transform our children into the likeness of your son, Jesus Christ. Renew them day by day, and bring them ever closer to his perfection. Clothe them in his holiness for your service, and produce a rich harvest of righteousness and good works in their lives.  Amen.

~NOTE FROM OUTREACH MINISTRY~

The KRC Outreach Ministry will be collecting redeemable cans and bottles from August 1 to September 30, 2016, at the Kinderhook Transfer Station on 9-H.  All money received will benefit the Stop Hunger Now drive.  Please save your items for our "bin with a banner" located near the transfer station office, or call Tana (518-495-3621) if you need assistance.

PULPIT FLOWERS

Many KRC family and friends have, in the past, provided cut flowers for the pulpit in celebration of an anniversary or birthday, in honor of a special day or event, and in loving memory of family and friends who have passed away. During the summer months, those of you who are gardeners are invited to arrange and display your own garden flowers on a Sunday of your choice.  If you are interested in providing flowers for a particular Sunday, contact Dawn, 758-7564.

“God is with me and will watch over me wherever I go!”

Genesis 28:15

Franklin Graham Decision America Tour in Albany

12 – 1 pm Thursday, August 25, West Capitol Park

Dear Friend,

In just a few days, I will be in Albany for the Decision America Tour prayer rally. Will you and your church be there to stand with me at the Capitol?

We must continue to share the Good News and take a stand for religious freedom and God’s truth. That’s why I will be in Albany—and every other state capital in 2016. Our nation needs to turn to God, and it begins with His people, the church. We must confess our sins as individuals—and as a nation—and call on God to heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

I hope you will join us at the Capitol and invite others to come with you—bring your children or fill a van from your church. Even if you have to drive across the state, it will be worth it to stand together and pray for our nation at this critical time.

Sincerely,

Franklin Graham

~STEWARDSHIP UPDATE~

This past Sunday, our weekly offering of $2,915 was very close to our weekly need of $3,000! As a result, the current budget deficit is currently $6,471 as seen in the figures below. Regular contributors are asked to “double up” on their giving if they miss a Sunday, and Stewardship Ministry urges that everyone give prayerful consideration to how they might adjust their giving to help keep income at a level that will meet daily operating expenses.

Total income to date:         $95,656

Total expenses to date:  $102,127

Inspired by the abundance with which the Lord has blessed us,

let us continue, as his faithful stewards, to be ever mindful of the need

to maintain a weekly offering sufficient to cover our commitments.
