Call to Worship  (Responsive)  Based on Psalm 62
       LEADER:  God of unfailing love, with confidence we gather to worship and praise you;
PEOPLE:  We trust you, O God, and have confidence

in your promise of security, refuge and love.
LEADER:  For God alone our souls wait in expectation,

for our hope is from God.
PEOPLE:  God alone is our rock and our salvation; we will not be shaken.

LEADER:  Our God sends deliverance and honor.

PEOPLE:  Like a mighty rock, God is our refuge.

LEADER:  Trust in God always, for God is power and grace.

PEOPLE:  Steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.

LEADER:  Brothers and sisters, praise the Lord!

PEOPLE:  The Lord’s name be praised!

Turning Our Hearts to God

*Hymn of Invitation #472                                                    Grace Greater Than Our Sin

[Moment of Silent Prayer]

Call to New Obedience (Responsive)                                              The Holy Scriptures

First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

                                                                                                                      2 Peter 1:20, 21

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.

                                                                                                          2 Timothy 3:16 ,17

Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.                                    Hebrews 4:12

(Continued on next page.)  gourmet

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 15:4

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Open my eyes, so that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.

Psalm 119:105, 18, 34

The Lord exists forever; your word is firmly fixed in heaven.  The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.

Psalm 119:89; Isaiah 40:8

*Hymn of Exhortation #700                                                           We Are God's People

UPDATE – EXCEL YOUTH-FOR-CHRIST CONFERENCE

SARATOGA SPRINGS

The theme of this year's conference was “Inside Out” - understanding who Jesus is and how he transforms us from the inside out.  From Friday evening until dinner time on Sunday, the group was immersed in Christ-centered worship and teaching in 5 two-hour large-group general sessions, interspersed with 5 one-hour specialized seminars. Of course there was free time for meals and to hang out together, and even time for a trip to Friendly's for ice cream. For more information or to see photos from the weekend, visit the church facebook pages, EXCEL facebook page, or Youth for Christ's local website at CDYFC.org.

The cost per student to attend was approximately $150 and a number of our youth were not able to pay their own way.  If you would like to help sponsor a student, you may do so by designating an additional offering in the plate for “YFC  EXCEL”.

Greetings Everyone,

Just wanted to send along a quick reminder and invitation to all to next month's First Friday potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday, February 6, served in the Kinderhook Reformed Church fellowship room. Everyone is welcome, so even if you don't cook, or don't have time to, please come and enjoy the good food and fellowship.  There is always more than enough for everyone to have a hearty meal, and we hope to see you there!

                                                                         Blessings, Your Outreach Ministry Team!
