   God’s Greeting

Boldly Approaching our God

   Call to Worship (Responsive)

Holy Spirit, soar and lift us high into the light of joy.
     Holy Spirit, soar and carry us on the wings of hope.
Holy Spirit, soar and send us to the searching and the hungry.
     Holy Spirit, soar and bring us to deeper friendships

     and ever larger circles of care.
Holy Spirit, soar and raise us on the winds of love

and make our songs echo on every mountain and in every heart.
     Holy Spirit, soar and make us one. Make us whole.

 *Hymn of Praise #291                                                                         Sweet, Sweet Spirit

    Pentecost Litany

      (Pouring of the Water)

PASTOR:  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was formless and empty,
and darkness was upon the face of the deep;
and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. (Gen. 1: 1-2)
CHILD:  The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
the God of glory thunders and moves over the mighty waters.
(Psalm 29: 3)

      (Singing of the Wind Chimes)

PASTOR:  The wind blows where it chooses. You hear the sound of it,
but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes.
So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. (John 3: 8)
CHILD:  The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare.

And yet He is the one who makes the deer give birth

and in God's temple all shouts, "Glory unto Him!" (Psalm 29:9)

      (Pouring of the Soil)

PASTOR:  When you send forth your Spirit all living things are created;
and you renew the face of the earth. (Psalm 104:30)
CHILD:  The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,

world and those who live in it. (Psalm 24:1)

      (Lighting of a Candle)

PASTOR:  John baptized with water; but Jesus baptized us

with the Holy Spirit -- all-consuming as a fire. (Luke 3:16)
CHILD:  The voice of the Lord flashes forth like flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;

the Lord is able to change our chaos and pain. (Psalm 29: 7-8)

PASTOR:  The Lord give strength to his people!
CONGREGATION: The Lord bless his children with his Holy Spirit! (Psalm 29:11)

~VALATIE ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY UPDATE~

MANY THANKS AND BLESSINGS TO THE KRC FAMILY for your ongoing support of the Valatie Food Pantry. Many families regularly benefit from your generosity to this community ministry.  Non-perishable foods that are always popular at the Pantry are evaporated milk; coffee; sugar; boxed cereals; pancake mix; syrup; jelly; canned meats, fruits, and vegetables; spaghetti/spaghetti sauce; mac & cheese; dinner helpers; apple sauce; juice; cake & brownie mixes. Donations may be placed in the collection containers available in the entryways of the church.

KRC’s share of support this year is $5,728.14 for services and resources to be provided for us by
the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE
OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $86.79.  All who are able to do so are encouraged
to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The full share does not have
to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. That’s just under
$2.50 per week for each week remaining in this year. All contributions for this purpose should be
designated, “Classis Assessment.”
