  Welcome, Announcements, and God’s Greeting

Call to Worship (Responsive)  Adapted from Psalm 139

O God, you have searched us and known us —
When we sit down and when we rise up,

     When we worship and pray, and praise and serve;
You discern our thoughts from far away —
Our hopes and dreams, our worries and fears.

You search out our paths, and are acquainted with all our ways.
Even before a word is on our tongue, O Lord, you know it completely.
You hem us in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon us.

We praise you! Wonderful are your works! We worship you, O God!

*Morning Praise Hymn #86                                                   We Come, O Christ, to You

  Call to Confession

Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.  And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.” Let us deny ourselves and come to Jesus, confessing our self-centered, willful ways and asking forgiveness for our sin.

Prayer Of Confession (Unison)  Based on Romans 12:1 & the words of Malachi

Lord Jesus, we have not set our hearts to honor you, but have shown contempt for you by not offering ourselves to you as living sacrifices acceptable in your sight.  We have not revered your name, and we have not remembered your words. We have not responded whole-heartedly to your call to follow in your ways and we have not kept faith with you or with one another.  We have minimized and made excuses for our sin, and in some cases, have deceived ourselves into believing that our bad behavior was actually the right thing to do.  We acknowledge that we have fallen from grace, and we seek your mercy.

 [Silent Prayer of Confession]

Forgive us, Lord Jesus, we pray; purify us, and refine us.

Let your righteousness rise within us like the sun with healing in its wings.

Assurance of Pardon Based on 1 Timothy 1:15

Here are words you may trust, words that merit full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.  To all who confess their sins and resolve to lead a new life, he says, “Your sins are forgiven.”  He also says, “Follow me.”

Hallelujah, Amen.

Prayer for Illumination

  Scripture Lesson                                                                              John 1:43-51 (p. 751)

Message                                                         “Called To Be . . . Mirror Twins of Jesus”

  Prayer of Thanks

*Doxology (#809) and Offertory Prayer (Unison)

Holy God, we offer these gifts to be used to preach the truth of salvation through Christ Jesus your Son, the only gateway to fullness of life and to life eternal; to proclaim his promise of renewal of mind, body, and spirit; and to make known the blessings that await those who listen and respond to his voice of love and reassurance.  Amen.

  Prayer Requests

Intercessory Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

Closing Hymn  (Insert)                                                                                       I Would Be Like Jesus

*Benediction, Blessing, and Response Hymn    My Friends May You Grow in Grace

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever, amen. (2x)

Dear KRC Family and Friends,

We would like to thank all who have contributed to the more than $3,500 received to date toward the cost of replacing the parsonage windows.  The total expenditure for this capital improvement is upward of $7,000, and additional donations will be greatly appreciated.    Gifts clearly designated "Parsonage Windows" may be placed in the weekly offering plate.

In His Name and In His Service,

                                                     The Consistory of KRC

In order to make way for KRC’s new permanent outdoor sign, quite a number of hosta plants had to be removed from the front lawn of the church.  The plants have been taken up in clumps of about a dozen plants each, and are now along the outside of the south wall of the church sanctuary between the wall and the handicap ramp.  Anyone who wishes may feel free to take whatever plants they can use for transplanting in their own garden landscapes.
