The Kinderhook Reformed Church is excited to welcome and introduce their new pastor, Rev. Rudy Visser and his family.
Rev. Rudy and wife, Elize were both native born in the Republic of South Africa where he received his Master of Divinity at the University of Stellenbosch. Elize earned her associates in special education and is currently a stay at home mom.
They came to the United States of America in 2001 where he continued his ministry studies at Calvin College Seminary in Grand Rapids MI. During this time Rudy and Elize were blessed with their two daughters, Annake and Liezl.
Rudy brings an eclectic blend of ministry talents to Kinderhook Reformed Church He has served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor and most recently as hospital Chaplain at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and currently is the full time pastor for Kinderhook Reformed Church .
Rudy and his family truly have a passion for meeting new people and serving the Lord. Rudy and Elize look forward to building relationships with the people of Kinderhook Reformed Church and its community. Their vision and dream for Kinderhook Reformed Church is that it would become home to the scared, the outcast, the foreigner, a place to believe, belong and to become!
It is also their prayer that it would be said of Kinderhook Reformed what was said about the church in Thessalonica “You became imitators of the Lord…and a model to all the believers allover” (1 Thessalonians 1 vs. 6 & 7 paraphrased)
They invite you to come and worship the Lord on Sundays at 9:30am, coffee hour at 10:30 and Sunday school at 11:00am where they would love to meet you!
Kinderhook Reformed Church is located at the corner of Broad Street (Rte 9) and Church Street in Kinderhook. Rudy can be contacted at (518) 758-6401.
2009 is my second year in the office as a deacon at KRC. My husband Ted and I have been a member of this church for about six years. We have three children, all married, and ten grandchildren. Together, we have made seven moves, mostly in the radius of 120 miles, but one to California. I have attended churches in every move and have progressed in my journey of faith. I still have a long way to go towards serving our Lord, but with His help I am sure I can become the Christian he expects me to be.
I am Consistory liaison to the Church Family ministry and think that is where God intends me to be. I’m excited about the new projects we as the consistory are busy with: i.e. “NCD” and “Angel Food.”
On a personal note: I remember attending this church 43 years ago and how active it was in the community. I’m so glad we’re working to bring that vitality back, not only to our community, but to ourselves.
May you be blessed by visiting our website and church
