What does the church believe?
Kinderhook Reformed Church believes the Bible is the Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice; we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of those who have faith in Him; and we believe in the historic Christian faith as confessed in The Apostles’ Creed.
Is the church handicapped accessible?
Yes. We have a ramp to allow entry into the main floor of the church building at the sanctuary level. There is also an elevator at this entrance that allows access to the lower level of the church where both the church hall and handicapped accessible bathroom are located.
What time is worship and how long is the service?
Kinderhook Reformed offers one Sunday worship service at 9:30 am. Partway through the worship service, children will be invited to come forward for a blessings, and those who wish to attend Sunday school may do so, but they are also welcome to stay in the sanctuary. We also offer a nursery downstairs across form the Sunday school rooms for the littles if families with pre-school age children wish to take advantage of the space. Most Sundays childcare is available in the nursery. The service generally concludes by 10:30am at which time we have coffee, snacks and fellowship downstairs for anyone who wishes to join in.
What denomination is the church?
Kinderhook Reformed is part of the Reformed Church in America, a protestant denomination which has had a presence in America since 1628 when the Dutch Reformed Church established its first congregation in New Amsterdam (now known as New York City).
What programs are there for kids?
On Sunday mornings, children from age 4 through 5th grade can attend Sunday School during worship at 9:30 am. We have monthly service opportunities for youth of all ages, and throughout the year we offer a variety of fellowship and learning opportunities such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Easter Egg Hunt, and more! What should I wear?
There’s no dress code at Kinderhook Reformed Church. Some people dress casually, and some dress formally. Wear whatever is comfortable for you!
Where do I park & how do I enter the church?
On Sunday mornings parking is available on both Route 9 and Church street. There are also a limited number of parking spaces available across Church street in the phone company parking lot. You may enter the church through the front doors facing Route 9.
Does the church offer adult Bible studies?
Yes, Kinderhook has multiple Bible studies for adults to grow their faith, both in person and on zoom. If you are looking for a study please check our calendar of events to see what is offered each week or contact the church office.
