Risen Jesus, Holy Lamb of God, we are all too comfortable with the fact that our daily lives often do not reflect a close relationship with you, and we are content to appear and behave as though we have not been called into discipleship with you. We confess that these passive forms of denial are no different than the open renouncement and desertion you suffered at the hands of Peter and the other disciples the day of your crucifixion. And we are all-to-ready to place the blame on the Romans, the Jewish leaders, and the traitorous crowds for driving the thorns, the nails, and the sword into you, and to ignore the hard truth that our own personal sin against you makes us just as guilty. Forgive us, Jesus! Through the power or your resurrection, remake us into your righteous, faithful witnesses and unmistakable followers.

~CONCERTS IN THE VILLAGE 2014-2015 SERIES UPDATE~
Last Sunday at 3:00 p.m. an enthusiastic audience of over 225 gathered in the KRC sanctuary for CITV’s second major offering of its 2014-2015 season. The concert was devoted to works of Beethoven and Schubert, and featured 67 performers. All performing felt deeply rewarded and grateful once again for KRC’s essential role in making such concerts possible. Special thanks are extended to the Church Family Committee for its hosting of the reception following Sunday’s concert. Wonderful receptions have become integral to the CITV concert experience and provide a very welcoming opportunity for listeners and performers to share their impressions. Growing numbers in the community, truly in the region, are thankful that KRC makes possible such inspiring concerts. CITV is very pleased to regard Kinderhook Reformed Church as its primary performing venue, indeed its home.

In addition, at noon on Tuesday, April 14, the Broad Street Chamber Players (flutist Elizabeth Chinery, cellist Jay Shulman, pianist David Smith) will perform works of Haydn, C.P.E. Bach, Saint Saëns, Philippe Gaubert and Alan Shulman at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, in its free Music at Noon series.
~VALATIE ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY THANK-YOU FOR EASTER BASKETS~
Thanks to your generosity, Easter Food Baskets were given to well over 100 families who use the Valatie Ecumenical Food Pantry. The baskets included food for Easter dinner: ham, potatoes, yams, corn, green beans, pineapple, and brownies. All food items for the baskets were purchased in bulk by the Pantry, and it is still not too late if you would like to help financially with these purchases. Checks may be made payable to Kinderhook Reformed Church, with Easter Baskets on the memo line, and dropped in the offering plate. If you prefer, you may make checks out directly to Valatie Ecumenical Food Pantry, Inc., with Easter Baskets on the memo line, and mail them to: Jean Norton, 35 Harris Drive, Valatie, NY 12184 . The Pantry wishes to thank all who have contributed so far. All monies or food items left over from the Easter basket distribution will be put into the Pantry account or onto the Pantry shelves.

Our KRC family served dinner to 109 people at St. Luke's Church in Valatie, this past Tuesday evening. Many thanks from the Outreach Ministry to our chefs, sus chefs, servers, and dish washers, who did a splendid job making the dinner a complete success! Wonderful fellowship was enjoyed by everyone, while serving our Lord.
KRC’S NEXT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING WILL BE SUNDAY, APRIL 19
following a combined 10 am Worship Service. The 8:30 am service will resume the following Sunday, April 26. A light brunch will be served hosted by the Thursday Bible study group, and sign-up sheets for food donations will soon be available at the back table.

Maureen Mooney’s Aunt Joan Kennedy. Joan’s bone cancer is not responding to treatments and she is now at home receiving hospice services. Remember also Joan’s daughter, Rose, as she helps in meeting her mother’s needs during this difficult time.
