Churches Learning Change

Transformed leaders, renewed congregations

Churches Learning Change is an intensive, five-year process that includes leadership development for pastors and a team of six lay leaders from each church that has engaged the process. The process includes multiple three-day retreats, regular assignments, and accountability measures that are structured into the programming. It also includes revitalization efforts as the team of leaders establishes and then pursues God's preferred future for their church.

"The process contributes to deep personal change in pastors and congregational leaders," says Ken Eriks, the RCA's director of congregational mission.

"The approach is consistent with the RCA's conviction that personal renewal precedes congregational renewal, and that deep transformation occurs best in community and over time. I am grateful to the Lilly Endowment for its commitment to extend this process to more congregations."

Kinderhook Reformed Church began their journey in March 2013, completed module 2 in 2018, and the leadership team continues to engage the congregation in the process. To learn with us, click here: http://vimeo.com/album/2081498
