Boldly Approaching Our God
  Welcome and Announcements
*God's Greeting
Call to Worship  Adapted from Isaiah 40:26-28  (Responsive)
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
The Lord, our God. He is the maker of heaven and earth.
He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
We praise you, O Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
We worship you, Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
*Morning Praise Hymn #62                        Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

Call to Confession  (Based on Hebrews 4:15-16)
Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, knows all our weaknesses, and can sympathize, because he was tested in every way we are, only without sinning. So let’s come boldly to the throne of grace, where we can find mercy and grace to help when we need it most.
   Prayer of Confession  (Unison)
Dear Heavenly Father, we lower our heads before you, and we confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours. Sometimes we carry on our lives as if there was no God, and we fall short of being a credible witness to you. For these things we ask your forgiveness, and we also ask for your strength. Remind us O Lord, to be who you would have us to be regardless of what we are doing or who we are with. Hold us to you, and build our relationship with you and with those you have given us on earth.
   Assurance of Pardon
The word of the Lord is trustworthy and sure: When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us. We are made new creatures in Christ.             In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Hallelujah! Amen.
   Special Music, Ben Hart                                               Secure
Prayer of Blessing for Our Children  (Unison)
All-knowing and faithful God, lead our children along paths of righteousness into the places and purposes that you have planned for their lives. May they trust always in your promise and power to guide and direct them in serving you and in bringing blessing to others.

We Come Before God's Open Word

OUTREACH MINISTRY INITIATES
“DROP-IN-THE-BUCKET”  PROGRAM

The Outreach Ministry has begun a “Drop-in-Bucket” program for the remaining Sunday’s in February.  Donations will be sent to the Albany Synod to aid in Hurricane Sandy relief for RCA churches on Staten Island and other parts of New York.  A collection bucket has been placed in the foyer, and your “spare pocket change” – or whatever your heart suggests – is appreciated.  Please make checks payable to “Kinderhook Reformed Church” with “Hurricane Relief” in the memo.
                                                           Many thanks, the Outreach Ministry

THERE IS STILL QUITE A NUMBER OF 2012 CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS ON THE BACK TABLE AWAITING PICK-UP.  IF YOU HAVE NOT YET TAKEN YOURS, PLEASE DO SO TODAY, AS THIS WILL SAVE THE CHURCH SOME POSTAGE DOLLARS.  THANK YOU!   ENVELOPES ARE IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.

The Coffee Hour following our 10 a.m. Sunday Worship Service has grown into a well-attended, enjoyable, and very valuable time of fellowship for the KRC family and visitors. At this time, only a few dedicated individuals are providing and serving the refreshments and beverages and seeing to the work of clean-up afterward.  Volunteers are needed to help out in this ministry, and a sign-up sheet is available on the back table if you are willing to host or lend a hand with a Coffee Hour.

An Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service will be held here at KRC this coming Wednesday, February 13, at 7 p.m.  Please reserve this date on your calendar and plan on attending this time of worship marking the beginning of the Lenten season.

~BENEFIT CONCERT FOR PHILMONT REFORMED CHURCH~
Next Sunday, February 17, at 3:00 p.m., the Hudson River Bells will sponsor a benefit concert for the Philmont Reformed Church (Second Reformed Church of Claverack) whose building was recently destroyed by fire. The concert will be held at the Philmont United Methodist Church, 27 Church Street, Philmont. The Hudson River Bells are an adult handbell choir from the First Reformed Church of Athens, who ring sacred music for church services and other functions. The one-hour program will also include two guest performers. All donations from the concert will go to the Philmont Reformed Church to assist in their needs.

~THANK-YOU NOTE FROM PERRY JONES~

Dear Pastor Rudy and KRC Family,
Thank you for your support of God’s work at Capital City Rescue Mission. Today, CCRM is still dedicated to proclaiming the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.  In 2012, we provided 230,186 meals, 60,390 nights of lodging, 378,415 articles of clean clothing, and 2,689 medical visits to those in greatest need in our community. In the past year, we saw 196 professions of faith.
Neighborhood churches, like yours, support our ministry in so many ways – through praying for us, volunteering, gift-in-dine donations, and monetary gifts.  Hurting people are transformed with your help and kindness.
It would be my honor to come out sometime soon and share with your church family the work of the mission, especially the great news about the work being done currently to create Transitional Supportive housing apartments for those who would otherwise be homeless.

                                                         In Christ,
                                                         Perry Jones, CCRM Executive Director
