BRIAN POST, missionary whom we help to support as he and his wife, Bea, serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators, will be visiting with the KRC Family on TOMORROW EVENING, JULY 2, at 6:00 pm. Brian will update us on the work and ministries of Wycliffe, and will address some of the difficulties that regularly confront translators as they strive to bring the truth of God’s Word accurately and faithfully to cultures that have never had the Bible in their language before. Particular attention will be given to recent criticism of Wycliffe related to the translation into some languages of references to Jesus as the Son of God and references to God the Father. Bea and Brian Post work for Wycliffe Bible Translators. Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend, a missionary. The goal of Wycliffe is for each person to be able to read God's Word in his/her own language and to fulfill the Great Commission.
According to Wycliffe, there are 6,800+ languages in the world today. To date, Wycliffe has completed over 700 Scripture translations. However, over 2,000 languages - representing an estimated 350 million people - still do not have a Bible translation.
Accurate translation is tedious work even when the subject matter is common, everyday activities. Translating spiritual truths is even more difficult.
In recent months, discussion and controversy has transpired about the translation of Trinity terms (most specifically the translation of words that refer to the relationship between God the father and God the Son/Son of God) in some languages in Muslim contexts. This has drawn much attention. Wycliffe has submitted to a review of specific Bible translation practices, and in March 2012, The World Evangelical Alliance agreed to lead that review. This panel will review current translation practices in light of sound theology to set guidelines for acceptable translation of key terms. Wycliffe has agreed to abide by their decisions.

JULY 4 MARCH CELEBRATING
236 YEARS of the USA and 300 YEARS of KRC!
The entire KRC family is invited to participate in the annual Kinderhook People's Parade - and what a great way to celebrate KRC’s faith journey over the centuries, especially as we observe the 300th year of that journey!
As usual, the parade is on July 4th – THIS COMING WEDNESDAY. Some ideas are walkers with a banner announcing KRC, walkers carrying their Bibles, and kids possibly waving USA flags. Does anyone have a convertible or a flat-bed tractor? All ideas are welcomed.
The walk is not too far: parade line up is at the park on Rothermel Lane, and parade ending is at the Village Square. And of course, all are very much encouraged to walk - a nice way to profess your faith, express your patriotism, fellowship with other KRC members, see neighbors, and exercise off those extra pounds you'll be putting on later in the day! Please see Patrice if you plan to walk and/or if you have ideas.
KRC SMALL GROUPS
KRC offers a small group opportunity at 9 am Thursdays at the church. The group will begin a new study this week, “Battlefield of the Mind,” based on the book by Joyce Meyers. All are encouraged to attend, and walk-ins are welcome!

We are in the planning stages of starting a Weight Watchers program at KRC for anyone interested.
