  PRELUDE
WELCOME, SILENT PRAYER, & PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP

Boldly Approaching Our God

CALL TO WORSHIP   (Responsive)   Based on Psalms 95 and 96
Enter the house of the Lord, and give thanks.
Fill his house with sounds of joy! Let them ring out!
Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, who died for us and rose from the dead,
is our only Savior.
He is our Good Shepherd, our strength and our song.
To Jesus Christ, our only God, who supplies all our needs,
be glory, majesty, and power, now and forevermore!
This is the day that he has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

CALL TO CONFESSION  Based on Isaiah 55:6, 7
The Lord says, “Seek me while you may find me; call on me while I am near.  Turn away from your sin and turn to me, and I will have mercy on you, and I will forgive you.”
PRAYER OF CONFESSION and ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Unison)
(Based on Psalm 86)
Have mercy on us, Lord Jesus, for we are lost in our sinful ways and we are needy.  Deliver us from punishment, for your love toward us is great.  Hear our prayer, O Lord; listen to our cry for mercy.  Teach us your ways, O Lord our God, and we will walk in your truth; give us thankful and faithful hearts that we may praise and glorify your name forever.
[Silent prayer of confession]
You are forgiving and good, overflowing in love for all who call to you.
Hallelujah, Amen.

BRIAN POST, missionary whom we help to support as he and his wife, Bea, serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators, will be visiting with the KRC Family on TOMORROW EVENING, JULY 2, at 6:00 pm.  Brian will update us on the work and ministries of Wycliffe, and will address some of the difficulties that regularly confront translators as they strive to bring the truth of God’s Word accurately and faithfully to cultures that have never had the Bible in their language before. Particular attention will be given to recent criticism of Wycliffe related to the translation into some languages of references to Jesus as the Son of God and references to God the Father.  All are invited to attend, and you are encouraged to visit wycliffe.org beforehand: Click on “Son of God” at bottom of home page,  then click on “Q & A”, or pick up a Q & A packet on the back table.

AND SO IT CONTINUES . . .
No. 3 in a series of  “GETTING TO KNOW THE MISSIONS KRC SUPPORTS.”

Bea and Brian Post work for Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend, a missionary.  The goal of Wycliffe is for each person to be able to read God's Word in his/her own language and to fulfill the Great Commission.
According to Wycliffe, there are 6,800+ languages in the world today.  To date, Wycliffe has completed over 700 Scripture translations.  However, over 2,000 languages - representing an estimated 350 million people - still do not have a Bible translation.
Accurate translation is tedious work even when the subject matter is common, everyday activities.  Translating spiritual truths is even more difficult.
In recent months, discussion and controversy has transpired about the translation of Trinity terms (most specifically the translation of words that refer to the relationship between God the father and God the Son/Son of God) in some languages in Muslim contexts.  This has drawn much attention.  Wycliffe has submitted to a review of specific Bible translation practices, and in March 2012, The World Evangelical Alliance agreed to lead that review.  This panel will review current translation practices in light of sound theology to set guidelines for acceptable translation of key terms.  Wycliffe has agreed to abide by their decisions.
The Posts have been contacted directly, and Brian will be here at KRC for a question and answer time TOMORROW July 2, AT 6 P.M.  All are invited, even encouraged, to attend.
For general information, visit Wycliffe’s website, www.wycliffe.org. Go to http://www.wycliffe.org/sonofgod.aspx for information about this current issue.  You may also ask further questions either via website or calling 1-800-992-5433.

* Coins for Compassion Boxes
may be placed in the offering plate on any Sunday. *

JULY 4 MARCH CELEBRATING
236 YEARS of the USA and 300 YEARS of KRC!
The entire KRC family is invited to participate in the annual Kinderhook People's Parade - and what a great way to celebrate KRC’s faith journey over the centuries, especially as we observe the 300th year of that journey!
As usual, the parade is on July 4th – THIS COMING WEDNESDAY.  Some ideas are walkers with a banner announcing KRC, walkers carrying their Bibles, and kids possibly waving USA flags.  Does anyone have a convertible or a flat-bed tractor?   All ideas are welcomed.
The walk is not too far:  parade line up is at the park on Rothermel Lane, and parade ending is at the Village Square.  And of course, all are very much encouraged to walk - a nice way to profess your faith, express your patriotism, fellowship with other KRC members, see neighbors, and exercise off those extra pounds you'll be putting on later in the day! Please see Patrice if you plan to walk and/or if you have ideas.

KRC SMALL GROUPS
KRC offers a small group opportunity at 9 am Thursdays at the church.  The group will begin a new study this week, “Battlefield of the Mind,” based on the book by Joyce Meyers.  All are encouraged to attend, and walk-ins are welcome!

~ISAIAH 6 CONCERT, 7 PM FRIDAY, JULY 20, at  KRC~

Please plan on setting aside this date on your calendar to enjoy “An Evening of Acoustic Worship” here at KRC with Isaiah 6 lead singer, Derek Levendusky, together with Heidi Jo & Gracie.  Admission is free, and a free-will offering will be taken in support of Isaiah 6 Ministries.  Visit their website, www.dereklevendusky.com

~WEIGHT WATCHERS PROGRAM~

We are in the planning stages of starting a Weight Watchers program at KRC for anyone interested.  The class would be in the morning, and we would like to know which morning of the week works best for those who may wish to attend. Please speak with Dawn Van Buren or send an e-mail to her at  dawnandleo@fairpoint.net

~A Note of Thanks~
Dear Rev. Visser and Congregation,
I would like to thank you all for the warm reception and service we received [on May 26] at your church and the cemetery grounds.  The service for my great-great grandfather was very moving.  You people left me with a warm, good feeling all weekend.  Many others felt the same way.  God bless you all, and keep up the good work.  Thank you.
