    Entering God’s Presence

Call to Worship (Responsive)  Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us and we are his;

we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.

*Hymn of Praise #317                                               All People That on Earth Do Dwell

Call to Confession  2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin.”  Let us together seek the face of God and confess our sins to him.

    Seeking God’s Renewal

Prayer of Confession   (Unison)  Based on Psalm 51

Be merciful to us, O God, because of your constant love. Because of your great mercy, remove our sins, and we will be clean; wash us, and we will be whiter than snow! We and we and andhave been sinful from the day we were born - from the time our mothers conceived us.                  (Continued on next page.)

We are always conscious of our faults, and we recognize that we have sinned against you - only you.  Fill us with sincerity and truth and fill our minds with your wisdom. O God, create pure hearts and loyal spirits within us. Do not banish us from your presence, or take your holy spirit away from us. Give us again the joy that comes from your salvation, and make us willing to obey you. Save us, O God, and we will gladly praise you and proclaim your righteousness. We know you are not pleased with burnt offerings, so we offer you humble spirits, O God; you will not reject humble and repentant hearts.

[Moment of Silent Prayer and Reflection]

  Assurance of Pardon

Romans 10:10 declares this promise: “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Sacrament of Baptism, Brynn Kathryn Babic

Children’s Sermon and Mothers’ Prayer (Unison)

Help us as mothers, gracious God, to lead righteous and blameless lives before our children. Enable us to bring them up in the training and instruction of your Holy Word, and to counsel and discipline them with love and grace after your own example.  Amen.

Encountering God’s Word

Prayer for Illumination and Scripture Lesson                  Proverbs 31:10-31 (p. 471)

Message                                                             “Oh, How Wonderfully She Is Made.”

  Prayer of Blessing

    Celebrating God’s Blessings

Prayer for the Blessing of Mothers (Responsive)

Lord, on this day set aside to honor and remember mothers,

we give you thanks for our mothers.

We are grateful that you chose to give us life through them,

and that they received the gift of life from your hands, and gave it to us.

We thank you for the sacrifices they made in carrying us and giving us birth.

We thank you for the women who raised us,

and who were our mothers in childhood.

Whether birth mom, adopted mom, older sister, aunt, grandmother, stepmother, or someone else,

we thank you for those women who held us and fed us,

who cared for us and kissed away our pain.

We pray that our lives may reflect the love they showed us,

and that they would be pleased to be called our moms.

Presentation of our Tithes and Offerings

  Offering/Offertory

  Doxology and Offertory Prayer  (Unison)

Holy God, we thank you for the gifts and blessings that you lavish on your creation.  As your children, heirs of your grace and filled with your Spirit, we bring our tithes and offerings to you. Use them, we pray, to spread the gospel, feed the hungry, heal the sick, and bring grace, compassion, and wholeness where there is fear, loneliness, violence, and despair. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

*Hymn of Assurance #84                                               Children of the Heavenly Father

*Benediction, Blessing, and Response Hymn    My Friends May You Grow in Grace

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever, amen. (2x)

NORTHERN COLUMBIA COUNTY’S 11th ANNUAL CROP HUNGER WALK

~ UPDATE FROM MELISSA WELCOME ~

The CROP walk was a success!  It did rain and hail, but the sun came out too!  By the end of the day, $8,400 had been raised, with more donations expected to come in over the next few weeks.  KRC contributed $1,200 to the day’s total.

~LENDING A HELPING HAND~

Bev Van Alstyne, as you know, is now home from rehab, and it is time to step up and lend a helping hand to Bev and Dick.  Dick has arranged in-home help for each morning of the week, but Bev would appreciate visitors on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday afternoons.  Please let Dick or Erika Johnson know a day or two in advance of your visit so that Dick can plan an outing for himself during that time. Dick's cell phone is 965-6318, and Erika may be reached at 828-6726. Erika will be visiting with Bev this coming Monday. Please consider prayerfully how you can become a part of this ministry to the Van Alstynes, who have been such faithful members of our church family over the years.

~VALATIE ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY UPDATE~

MANY THANKS AND BLESSINGS TO THE KRC FAMILY, not only for your generosity in support of the Valatie Food Pantry’s Easter Basket program, but also for your on-going donations of food and money. 94 families, including 141 adults and 112 children, benefitted from this community ministry in the month of March.  Non-perishable foods that are always popular at the Pantry are evaporated milk; coffee; sugar; boxed cereals; pancake mix; syrup; jelly; canned meats, fruits, and vegetables; spaghetti/spaghetti sauce; mac & cheese; dinner helpers; apple sauce; juice; cake & brownie mixes. Donations may be placed in the collection containers available in the entryways of the church.

KRC’S ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST and PLANT SWAP/SALE
All are welcome to come and to invite family and friends to a delicious all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast SATURDAY, MAY 31, from 8 – 11 am in the Fellowship Hall.  Sausage, coffee, and juice will be served along with the pancakes. No reservations needed, free-will donations accepted, and each year a different charity is chosen to receive the proceeds.

Outside on the same day, “rain or shine”, the Outreach Ministry will hold its Annual Plant Swap/Sale from 8 am - 12 noon on the front steps of the church.  Please consider contributing extra divisions or cuttings from your garden to this popular event. We will set up on Friday. If you have something you need divided but need help, please see/call Maureen Mooney.  We will also pick up plants if you cannot drop them off. Anyone who helps at the Pancake Breakfast gets to take advantage of a pre-sale/swap Friday evening from 4 - 8 when we will be setting up. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
