Call to Worship
Lord, your Spirit hovered on the waters as you made the earth.
Your Spirit breathed life into human beings.
Your Spirit inspired prophets to speak out against injustice;
Your Spirit sang praises and laments with the psalmist.
When Jesus was baptized, we knew him through the descent of your Spirit.
When flames danced among the disciples, the church came into being.
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us.
Your Spirit moves among us today; mold us O Spirit of the Living God into
one body and let us praise your holy work!
*Hymn of Praise #77 Praise to the Lord Almighty
Affirmation of Faith
We believe in God, known as Creator, Son, and ever-present Spirit.
We believe God gave birth to the church with the gift of the Holy Spirit - stirring the disciples and us to tell the Good News, heal the sick, feed the hungry, take care of the poor, welcome the stranger, and be a community of forgiveness and joy
We believe the Spirit is still moving, still acting, still turning the world upside down with love.
We believe the Spirit gives us different gifts to use, all for building up the church and showing the world a community of compassion and wisdom.
We believe in the church, wind-powered, fire-tinged, and Spirit-filled.
We believe the Holy Spirit will not be contained in dull, lifeless forms, but surprises us and empowers us to do new things, to risk loving, to venture boldly into God's world.
Children's Message and Blessing
Draw our children face-to-face with you, O Lord. May they feel your presence, and taste your goodness; may they experience the power of your Spirit to renew and strengthen them in times of need; and may they long for more of you each day of their lives. Amen.

The KRC Cemetery Committee is pleased to announce the June 1, 2013 opening of Kinderhook Cemetery’s COLUMBARIUM, a portion of the cemetery specifically designed for cremation burials. If you would like more information, please speak to Greg Clause, cemetery supervisor, or Jim Dunham, Cemetery Committee chairperson.
Many KRC family and friends have, in the past, provided cut flowers for the pulpit in celebration of an anniversary or birthday, in honor of a special day or event, and in loving memory of family and friends who have passed away. Crazy Daisy florist shop is again able to both create arrangements with a range of price options, and to deliver them to the church free of charge. Dawn Van Buren is happy to coordinate this ministry, and if you are interested in providing flowers for a particular Sunday, please contact Dawn, 758-7564, and she will assist you.

A RIP-ROARING GOOD TiME WITH JESUS!
VBS will run at KRC from June 24th to 28th, 9 am to Noon, with arrival and sign-in at 8:45 to 9 am daily. All kids of our community ages Pre-K (3 and potty-trained) through Grade 6 are invited to this year’s fun and spiritually-nurturing program, and forms are available on the back table for pre-registering your children or grandchildren. You may also pre-register by calling the church office, 758-6401, or 859-4158.
Christian Ed Ministry is looking for VBS volunteers to teach and to help, and a volunteer sign-up sheet is available on the back table. For information about the positive rewards of serving in this ministry and the relatively small time commitment involved, please speak with Patti Varga.
KRC’s share of support is $5,788 this year for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $85.12 (up $3.40 from last year). All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support. The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. For those who are able, a donation of $2.66 per week for the remaining 32 weeks of this year would meet an individual member’s share. All contributions made for this purpose should be clearly designated, “Classis Assessment.”
KRC’S ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST and PLANT SWAP/SALE
All are welcome to come and to invite family and friends to a delicious all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 8 – 11 am, in the Fellowship Hall. Sausage, coffee, and juice will be served along with the pancakes. No reservations needed, free-will donations accepted, and each year a different charity is chosen to receive the proceeds.
Outside on that same day, “rain or shine”, the church will hold its Annual Plant Swap/Sale from 8 am - 12 noon. Please consider contributing extra divisions or cuttings from your garden to this popular event. We will set up on Friday. If you have something you need divided but need help, please see/call Maureen or Dawn Van Buren. We will also pick up plants if you cannot drop them off. Anyone who helps at the Pancake Breakfast gets to take advantage of a pre-sale/swap Friday evening from 4 - 8 when we will be setting up. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
Dear Members of KRC - Our second photography session with Lifetouch is scheduled for June 14th from 2 pm —9 pm, and we would love to have pictures of the entire congregation for our new Directory.
