The Coffee Hour following our 10 a.m. Sunday Worship Service has grown into a well-attended, enjoyable, and very valuable time of fellowship for the KRC family and visitors. Volunteers are always needed to provide and serve the refreshments and beverages and see to the work of clean-up afterward. A sign-up sheet is available on the back table if you are willing to host or lend a hand to this ministry.

● Thank you to all who helped organize, contributed financially to, and/or walked in the recent CROP walk. 112 walkers participated, and over $13,000 was raised in this year’s effort to fight hunger both locally and worldwide!
● Many thanks for your response to our Sunday School’s call for help in funding the $735 worth of equipment and supplies needed. We are happy to report that we have reached our goal with the $780 in generous donations that have been received from KRC family and friends!
KRC’S ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST and PLANT SWAP/SALE
All are welcome to come and to invite family and friends to a delicious all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast THIS COMING SATURDAY, JUNE 1, from 8 – 11 am in the Fellowship Hall. Sausage, coffee, and juice will be served along with the pancakes. No reservations needed, free-will donations accepted, and each year a different charity is chosen to receive the proceeds.
Outside on the same day, “rain or shine”, the church will hold its Annual Plant Swap/Sale from 8 am - 12 noon. Please consider contributing extra divisions or cuttings from your garden to this popular event. We will set up on Friday. If you have something you need divided but need help, please see/call Maureen or Dawn Van Buren. We will also pick up plants if you cannot drop them off. Anyone who helps at the Pancake Breakfast gets to take advantage of a pre-sale/swap Friday evening from 4 - 8 when we will be setting up. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
Congratulations to Stacey (Baker) Williams, daughter of Jim and Nancy Baker, upon her graduation last Sunday from UAlbany, and congratulations as well to the graduating sons and daughters of other KRC families and friends. Pray for God's guidance and blessing on these young people as they move into a new stage of their education or life's work. Stacey graduated with a double major in French/Spanish, and a minor in psychology, and is on track to becoming a counseling psychologist. She is committed to expanding her knowledge about and putting an end to the human slavery still existing in today's world, and is actively working to increase general awareness of human trafficking. Her professional goal is to provide useful counsel to victims who have suffered this abuse, and to help them rebuild and re-establish their lives as independent, resourceful, free people.

A RIP-ROARING GOOD TiME WITH JESUS!
VBS will run at KRC from June 24th to 28th, 9 am to Noon, with arrival and sign-in at 8:45 to 9 am daily. All kids of our community ages Pre-K (3 and potty-trained) through Grade 6 are invited to this year’s fun and spiritually-nurturing program, and forms are available on the back table for pre-registering your children or grandchildren. You may also pre-register by calling the church office, 758-6401, or 859-4158.
Christian Ed Ministry is looking for VBS volunteers to teach and to help, and a volunteer sign-up sheet is available on the back table. For information about the positive rewards of serving in this ministry and the relatively small time commitment involved, please speak with Patti Varga.
KRC’s share of support is $5,788 this year for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $85.12 (up $3.40 from last year). All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support. The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. For those who are able, a donation of $2.66 per week for the remaining 32 weeks of this year would meet an individual member’s share. All contributions made for this purpose should be clearly designated, “Classis Assessment.”
~TESTMONY FROM ANGEL TREE – VOLUNTEERING THAT CHANGES LIVES~
(KRC has, for a number of years, participated in Angel Tree – a program sponsored by Prison Fellowship Ministries which works through local churches nationwide to provide Christmas gifts and the message of Jesus to children who have a parent in prison.)
“I brought my kids to the Angel Tree party, and I put them to work setting up chairs and putting candy on the tables. When the Angel Tree kids arrived, mine just blended right in - carefree kids, playing games, doing crafts, taking pictures, and even helping to hand out presents.
At one point, my youngest son, who we adopted from Ethiopia, caught my eye. Next to his new friend, he looked no different - just two little boys at a Christmas party, their whole lives ahead of them.
And then it hit me - my boy has everything he needs for success. And he has a daddy in his life every day to teach him and be a role model. But Julian’s dad is in prison and has been there his whole life. In fact, Julian’s chances of going to prison himself are 7 in 10 - purely because his dad is there.
That’s why Angel Tree is so critical for these kids. It’s not just about a present for Christmas. It’s about connecting them to a community of Christians who can offer support for their mom or grandma and introduce the whole family to the love of Jesus Christ.”

"THE OLDE DUTCH AND SUCH" CRAFTS GROUP MEETS ON FRIDAYS AT 9:30 A.M. in the main floor classroom opposite the church office. We are creating new plans and new items for the 2013 KRC Bazaar, and we are very much in need of new members and new ideas. Last year’s preparation workshops were full of fun, laughter, and good fellowship, and the bazaar was a huge success. We warmly welcome you to join us in our efforts to make this year’s even better!
