Sin afflicts us all. We know what it is like, as Paul described it, to do the very thing we don't want to do, and not be able to do the good that we desire to do. Let us humbly and sincerely come before God for confession and repentance.

Loving God, we suffer.

“THE GLORY OF MOZART AND HAYDN”

The well-received Concerts in the Village series continues at 3:00 p.m. TODAY with “The Glory of Mozart and Haydn” featuring chorus, soloists, and instrumental ensemble. The series is sponsored by the Kinderhook Reformed Church as part of its 300th anniversary celebration and is under the musical direction of David Smith. Bringing together 55 performers, this concert will include Haydn’s magnificent and dramatic “Lord Nelson” Mass, and Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, Andante and Veni sancte spiritus. In addition to some of the finest orchestral musicians in eastern New York, performers include vocal soloists Amanda Boyd, Carol Curran, Rose Hunsberger, Vicki Smith, Timothy Reno, and Charles Martin. Also performing will be flutist Sharon Levin, and organists Neil Keen and David Smith.
~THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION CONTINUES~
KRC IS COLLECTING ITEMS FOR THE VALATIE ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY FOR THANKSGIVING. The program will continue through NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18, so please place your bagged donations in the foyer on or before that date. Suggested food items most needed are, CANNED SWEET POTATOES and YAMS; PUMPKIN; CRANBERRY SAUCE; WHITE, BLACK, and RED KIDNEY BEANS; FLOUR; SUGAR; CEREAL; and DISH SOAPS. Otherwise, bring in whatever your heart moves you to provide - any nonperishable food items will be welcomed! AS A RESULT OF THE PANTRY’S FOOD COLLECTION DRIVE LAST YEAR, 133 THANKSGIVING BASKETS WERE DELIVERED LOCALLY TO NEEDY FAMILIES, AND KRC ALONE CONTRIBUTED 318 FOOD ITEMS TO THIS EFFORT. LET’S MAKE THIS YEAR EVEN BETTER!
An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve worship which will be held at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Valatie on Wednesday, November 21. All are invited to attend.
The elementary-age Sunday School class is doing a “Learning to Use your Bible” course, and the KRC Sunday School is providing Bibles for the children to use in this study We are looking for Bible sponsors willing to donate $15 per sponsorship to help with the cost of the Bibles. Sponsors may drop their donations in the offering plate clearly designated “Bible Sponsorship,” and each sponsor will receive a bookmark imprinted with the names of all students in the class as a reminder to pray for them as they learn to use God’s Word.
Dear Friends in Christ,
For the last two months, a number of you have answered the call of our Lord by attending meetings to discuss offering two Sunday morning worship services at Kinderhook Reformed Church. We will have one more Sunday of discussion to finalize our thoughts. If you have been a member of this planning team, you are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting at 8:30 a.m. next Sunday, November 18. Others who are interested are cordially invited to join in and become part of the team. The current consensus is to open a new era of early, contemporary worship at KRC beginning in January, 2013.

~THANK YOU TO OLD DUTCH & SUCH BAZAAR VOLUNTEERS~
The 300 Committee wishes to thank and congratulate all those who helped to make the Old Dutch & Such Bazaar such a great success. Planning began last February, with chairperson Dawn Tuttle organizing and steering the event. Many thanks also to Jeff Barmen, Joy Bertram, Jane Deane, Noreen and Alan Dick, Donna Flansburg, Sug Hawver, Gary Leggett, Diane Morgan, Laura Rafferty, Birgitta Sherman, Ken Sutherland, Bev Van Alstyne, and Joan VanAlstyne. And let’s not forget Brooke and Sophie Barmen, Haley and Morgan Hickman, and Aubrey Konkle who also donated their time the day of the bazaar. (Hopefully no one was left out of this list.)
The bazaar, which earned over $1900 for KRC’s Renovation Fund, was much more than a financial success: it provided an opportunity to get together weekly to enjoy good fellowship, foster closer relationships, and ultimately create an extraordinary outreach to our community. Please join the 300 Committee in praising God for this dedicated, hard-working, and creative group.
RC’s share of support is $6,546 this year for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $81.72, UP ONLY 87¢ FROM LAST YEAR! All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support. Contributions made for this purpose should be clearly designated, “Classis Assessment.” To date, more than $2,760 has been received to help defray this expense and MANY THANKS TO THOSE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED.
