*GREETING AND PASSING OF THE PEACE
MORNING PRAISE HYMN #20    Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
  CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsively)
We gather for worship as children of God.
We come to remember who and whose we are.
We gather for worship to be renewed in our faith.
We come with hearts open to receive God's love.
We gather for worship to catch a vision of what might be.
We come ready to change what is.
We gather for worship in gratitude for all we have been given.
With thanksgiving, we lift our voices in songs of praise.

Devotion and Intercession
In the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy
PASTOR:  Eternal God, you are our foundation, the ground of all being. Comfort those who find themselves on shaky ground in the days following nature's devastating display of power.
DEACON:  For those who grieve their loss and for those injured, we ask for your healing touch upon their hearts and in their lives.
PEOPLE:  For those who have returned to total or severe loss of property, we ask for them to glimpse a glimmer of hope within the disorienting devastation.
ELDER:  Author of creation, your handiwork reveals you continually make all things new. Reveal O Lord, the green and growing places that rise from the heart of tragedy: Strength to rebuild, Courage to be led into new directions, and Acceptance that some things are gone forever.
ALL:  God of transformation, we also seek your presence in the hearts of those have been spared this tragedy. Grant them a generous spirit, a willing heart, and an open hand towards the displaced, the traumatized, and the fearful. In the name of Jesus Christ, we humbly pray.  Amen.

  CHILDREN'S MESSAGE AND BLESSING
All-knowing and faithful God, lead our children along paths of    righteousness into the places and purposes that you have planned for their lives. May they trust always in your promise and power to guide and direct them in serving you and in bringing blessing to others.  Amen.

Dear Friends in Christ,

For the last two months, a number of you have answered the call of our Lord by attending meetings to discuss offering two Sunday worship services at Kinderhook Reformed Church.  We will have one more Sunday of discussion to finalize our thoughts. You are encouraged to attend this meeting at 8:30 a.m. next Sunday, November 11th, and become a permanent member of the planning team.  The current consensus of the team is to open a new era of early, contemporary worship at KRC beginning in January, 2013.
