CALL TO CONFESSION
God is merciful and gracious, with a steadfast love toward us that reaches as high as the heavens. Because of that love, God is slow to anger and always ready to forgive us. Let us confess our sins, knowing that God is eager to hear our heartfelt prayer of repentance.

Turning to you, O God, we confess that accounts of Jesus’ suffering and crucifixion are all too familiar. We so easily lose touch with what your Son really did for us, and we take his sacrifice too lightly. We confess that we do not succeed in sharing Jesus' sorrow for our sin.

We also confess, O Lord, that we so easily hang onto bitterness, hurt, anger, and disappointment, rather than letting go in faith and trust, releasing ourselves to the healing and cleansing power of your Spirit. We are putting together CARE packages for Jay Rippel and his fellow soldiers serving near the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, and the following is a list of needs for their kitchen: Hellmann's Mayo (plastic jar, please), honey, oatmeal, raisins, brown sugar, grated parmesan cheese, stick salami and pepperoni, Sweet Baby Ray's Barbeque Sauce, low fat / low sodium chicken broth, Uncle Ben’s Microwave Rice Packs, trail mix, nuts, and dried fruit. THIS SAME LIST APPEARS ON A SIGN-UP SHEET ON THE BACK TABLE. PLEASE SIGN UP IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE SOME OF THESE CARE PACKAGE ITEMS, bring your donation to the church, and put it in the special container marked for this purpose. Maureen Mooney has volunteered to box up the donations and mail the packages off to Jay.

Thanks and praises to God for the Kinderhook Reformed Church outreach to the community through the barbeque provided by KRC men at the OK Fall Festival in the Village Square last Saturday. TURKEY DINNER
The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill will be holding its annual Turkey Dinner THIS COMING SATURDAY, October 23. The church is located at the intersection of Schodack Landing Road and Muitzeskill Road.
The turkey dinner menu is turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, cabbage slaw, and dressing, served family style, with home baked pie for dessert. Dinner Servings are at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m. Take-outs are at 4 and 5 p.m. Adults: $10 - Children under 12: $5.

Kinderhook Reformed Church is pleased to announce it will be hosting Dave Ramsey's live simulcast seminar, "EntreLeadership", on Friday, November 5th, 2010, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Learn how Dave Ramsey trains his team for success to implement in your life, business, leadership role, or ministry. The event cost is $40.00 per person, which includes a workbook. “Setting Sail Again”, a program designed to bolster new life and motivation in the leadership of today’s church congregations, will be presented here at KRC Saturday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With the help of the video and web materials of Alice Mann and Reggie McNeil, participants will be invited to rethink KRC‘s current ministry model and approach. Everyone is welcome, especially Consistory members, Ministry chairs, Ministry members, and anyone who may be thinking of serving on one of KRC’s Ministries. • The safe rescue of the 33 miners in Copiapo, Chile, after being trapped for 69 days, and that all are in relatively good health

• His blessing of a wonderful, caring, Spirit-filled pastor of vision such as Pastor Rudy, and for steady healing and improvement in Pastor’s broken elbow
• The blessing of last Sunday’s Worship service and the inspiring example of Christian love and service seen in the life and personal sacrifice of Tom Little
• Helen Schneider, Bill Schneider’s Mom, who turns 94 this coming Thursday; pray also that Helen will be blessed with quality of life
• Kris Morgan’s successful back surgery - Kris is now resting and recovering at home, and thanks for your prayers and concern

KRC’s Community Prayer Group invites you to join us at 9 a.m. Tuesday mornings in the conference room kitty-corner from the church office. If you prefer not to pray aloud, we are delighted to have you join in prayer with us silently. We have a scripture, and pray for the pastor, consistory, our ministries, Sunday School, our youth, and illness and troubles in our families, church, and the world. We use unspoken requests to unload the cries of our hearts on the One who can do all things and do them well.
